Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport was opened in 1930, only the third civil facility in the country, it was requistioned by the Air ministry during the war and returned to civilian use afterwards. It wasn't until 1957 that a new facility was opened to which further improvements were made in the 80's. In 2000 a new £27 million terminal was opened and the airport was renamed Bristol International.
There is just the one terminal, with check in and arrivals on the ground floor and departures on the second floor. Business and holiday travellers alike are catered for with business lounges, bars and restaurants available on a mezzanine floor.
It handles over 4.5 million passengers a year flying to over 90 destinations.
The complex is situated south west of the city, off the A38 near Redhill.
